Inis Mae (Blankenship) Norman

It is with deep love and sadness that we share the passing of Inis Mae (Blankenship) Norman, age 74, resident of Vulcan, W.V., on December 30th, 2025, at Tug Valley ARH in South Williamson, Kentucky. 

Inis was born on November 30th, 1951, to the late Opal & Edis (Compton) Blankenship at Stopover, Kentucky, and from the very beginning, she brought joy and kindness to everyone around her.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Anderson Norman Jr., and infant son, Charlie Anderson Norman.

Inis loved serving the Lord and was a devoted member of Woodman Community Church.  Inis was a woman of strong faith and steady love; known for the care she gave freely to her family and those around her.  She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt.  Inis dedicated herself to creating a home that was full of love and laughter.  Her role as a homemaker was one she took great pride in.  Inis enjoyed talking on the phone and watching reels to pass the time away.  She was an avid WWE fan, and her favorite wrestler was Roman Reigns.  Cooking and shopping were two of her favorite hobbies. 

Inis had a smile that would light up the room, and her laughter was so joyful and infectious it would make others want to laugh too.  She will be missed by everyone who treasured her love and company.

Those remaining to honor her memory include her adored son, Brian Norman of Vulcan, W.V.; brother, Pastor Odis Blankenship of Vulcan, W.V.; sisters, Linda Norman of Freeburn, KY, and Mary Jo (Mike) Gross of Matewan, W.V.; niece, Mara (Cane) Maynard; nephews, Mikey Gross, Matthew Gross, Odis Allen Blankenship, and Kevin Lester.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 P.M. on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with special services starting at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 in the chapel with Pastors Odis Blankenship and Daryl Wolford officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Freeburn Community Cemetery at Barn Hollow with friends & family serving as Pallbearers. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
