Jeff Coleman

Jeff Coleman, 66, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at his residence. 

Born June 28, 1952 in Matewan, WV, he was a son of the late Roland & Hazel “Hatfield” Coleman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Paul Coleman and one sister-in-law: Linda Coleman.

Jeff was a retired coal miner and a member of the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church of God at Phelps, KY.  He was also a member of the Jaycees and a former member of the Phelps Volunteer Fire Department, having served for a decade.  Jeff, being an avid sports fan, loved UK basketball and the New York Yankees.  In his spare time, he enjoyed ATV riding.  Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who leaves a legacy of love and memories for his family & friends to treasure always.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife: Shirley “Casey” Coleman of Phelps, KY; one son: Christopher (Andrea) Coleman of Phelps, KY; two brothers: Teddy (Debbie) Coleman of Phelps, KY, Freddie Coleman of Phelps, KY; one sister: Linda (Earl Jr.) Jones of Pikeville, KY; one grandson: Trevor Coleman of Phelps, KY; one sister-in-law: Brenda Coleman of Phelps, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church of God, Phelps, KY with Reverend Benny Freeman and Earl Jones Jr. officiating. 

Entombment will follow in the Light of The World Mausoleum at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY. 

Firefighter honors will be performed by the Phelps Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Monday, November 26th at the church with special services at 7:00 P.M.
