Jessie James Hurley, 59, a life-long resident of Phelps, Kentucky, departed this life on November 29th, 2024, at Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family.
Jessie was born on August 24th, 1965, in South Williamson, Kentucky, a loving son of the late Frank Hurley (Eunice, his mom) and Della Ray Stiltner, his biological mother. In addition to Jessie’s parents, he was also preceded by his siblings, Boyd Hurley, Ronnie (Runt) Hurley, and Susie Hurley, two nephews, Ronnie Travis Hurley, and Blane Marvin Wolford.
Jessie was a cherished friend, companion, brother, uncle, and Papaw. He was always a bit of a ramble, fun loving and caring. Jessie had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. In his spare time, his favorite activity was four-wheeling, working in the garden and listening to his music, especially bluegrass. He also loved getting out to visit his friends and family.
Those surviving Jessie includes his companion, Ellen Marie Combs of Phelps, KY; one son, Frank James Hurley of Stopover, KY; brothers, Frankie Hurley (Michelle) of Cookville, TN, Raymond Hurley (Dianne) of Stopover, KY, Frank Hurley (Ruth) of OH, Wimpie Wolford (Bernice) of Stopover, KY; one sister, Debbie Hurley of TN; grandchildren, Frank James Jr. Hurley, Dyllon (Brooklyn) Hurley, and Natalee Hurley. Bobbie Boyle, the mother of Jessie’s grandchildren; numerous kids he claimed as children and grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews, extended family & friends.
Jessie cherished the friendship of Danny Hurley, Kenis Scott, Terry Duty, Billy Hurley, and Gary Ray to name a few.
The family would like to welcome friends for visitation on December 1st, & 2nd, 2024 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, Kentucky with special services held at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening with Pastors Larry Rife and Robert Coleman.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024.
Interment will conclude at the Wolford Cemetery in Abes Branch at Jamboree, Kentucky.
