Joan Kay (Stacy) Fields

Joan Kay Fields age 76, of Freeburn, KY passed away October 13th, 2023, at Pikeville Medical Center. 

She was born in Freeburn, KY on August 31st, 1947, a daughter of the late John & Mavis Pearl Stacy.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by brothers; Johnny Stacy, Jackie Stacy, and Jerry Stacy; and a sister, Jean Ann Stacy.

Joan was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and she was of the Church of God faith.    She thoroughly enjoyed reading in her spare time.  She also enjoyed gardening flowers and loved all her pretty things outside.  In earlier years, Joan had worked as a secretary in the grocery warehouse industry and assisted her husband with their gutter company. 

Those remaining to cherish the memory of Joan includes her loving husband, Nelson Fields of Freeburn, KY; one daughter, Melissa Fields Dotson and her husband, Steve of Paw Paw, VA; brother, Billy Ray Stacy of Fairborn, OH; sister, Sharon (Lowell II “Dutch”) Vanderpool of Ocoee, FL; aunt, Leoda Mounts of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Alexis Dotson of Paw Paw, VA.  Joan is also survived by a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, KY.

Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 Noon Wednesday in the Chapel with Adam Gross officiating.

Interment will conclude at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, KY.
