Johnny Darrell ("Johnboy") Brizendine

Johnny Darrell “Johnboy” Brizendine 48, of Cynthiana, KY passed away January 12th, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.  Johnny was born December 26th, 1975, in Pikeville, KY, a loving son of Trea Jo Roberts and the late Johnny Brizendine.

Johnboy as everyone knew him by, was a lifelong resident of Phelps, KY recently moving to Cynthiana, KY. and was of the Christian faith.  He was well known in the area for horse trading.  He took immaculate care of his horses and enjoyed working with them.  Johnboy also enjoyed trading vehicles in his spare time.   

In addition to his mother, Trea Jo Roberts, Johnboy is also survived by his loving children, Johnny Preston (Makayla) Brizendine, Layne Rogan Brizendine, Alyssa Lynn Brizendine, Josie Annabelle Grace Brizendine, and Haley (Andrew) Cordray; one brother, Tommy Brizendine; sisters, Tina Brizendine, and Laura (Michael Ray) Charles; one granddaughter, Alayna Carter Brizendine; and a special nephew, Jonathan Stiltner.  Johnboy is also survived by a host of extended family and friends that will cherish the love and laughter they shared with him.   

The family would like to welcome friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. on Friday, January 19th, 2024 with special services beginning at 7:00 P.M. with Steve Asbury officiating at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, KY.
