Justine (Stump) Hickman

Justine (Stump) Hickman, age 77, of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away on February 1, 2020 at the residence
of her daughter.  Justine was born on September 5, 1942 in Coleman, Kentucky to the late Frank Stump,
Sr. and Sara Ann (Dotson) Stump.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,
John David Hickman, her son, John Franklin Hickman, her brothers, Ermil Stump, Oscar Stump (Myrle)
and Frank Stump, Jr. (Libby) and three sisters, Pauline Smith (Julius), Virginia Ann Smith (Willie) and Jeanette Densmore (Bill).

Justine was a loving mother and wife as well as an amazing “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She was the owner and operator of Justine’s Flower and Gifts in Phelps, Kentucky. Justine
was a long-time entrepreneur in the Phelps area. She owned many local businesses over the years
including Silver Spoons Restaurant. Justine, along with her late husband J.D., were a staple at the Phelps
intersection for many years. She was proud to call Phelps her home. Justine was also once an avid golfer
and bowler. At the time of her death, Justine attended Connection Church in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Justine’s spirit for life and contagious “can do” attitude was an inspiration to all.  Justine touched many
families throughout her time with us and she leaves us with a lifetime full of fond memories.
Justine is survived by her daughter, Mirhonda Lynn (Hickman) Page (Don) of Phelps, Kentucky, her
grandchildren, Kolbe Page (Brittni) of Pikeville, Kentucky, Jonathan Hickman (Samantha) of Georgetown,
Kentucky, Garrett (Mac) Page (Candace) of Lexington, Kentucky, Jordan Hickman (Ariadjna) of Louisville,
Kentucky, Whitney Blankenship of Georgetown, Kentucky, Alexis and Savanah Hickman of Iager, West
Virginia, her two great grandchildren, Jonathan Hickman and Hadley Grace Page, her brother Glen
Stump (Pauline) of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, her three sisters Shelby Campbell (Roy) of Phelps,
Kentucky, Racene Hassard (Ron) of Santa Anita, California, Janice McLaughlin (Harv) of Washington,
Michigan and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services in memory of Justine Hickman will be held at Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps,
Kentucky. Visitation to be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the funeral service
to follow at 8:00 p.m.  A burial ceremony will be held at Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, Kentucky
on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. where Justine will be laid to rest alongside her
