With sadness we announce the passing of Kayla Dominique Bowling, age 35, a resident of Whitesburg, Kentucky, formerly of Freeburn, Kentucky on April 24th, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center.
Kayla was born at Williamson, W.Va. on July 31st, 1989, the loving daughter of the late Vanessa Blankenship Coleman.
In addition to Kayla’s parents, she was also preceded by her infant half-brother D.J. Meeks, an aunt, Carolyn Blankenship, and her uncle, Mark Blankenship, and maternal grandparents, Archie & Fayetta Blankenship.
Kayla enjoyed art, especially drawing and writing poems. She was a joyful person, and she enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
Those surviving Kayla includes her children, Kaden Lee Bowling of Freeburn, KY, and Payton Riley Bentley of Kimper, KY; two aunts, Judy Blankenship and Wanda (Larry) Wolford both of Freeburn, KY.
Kayla leaves behind a host of cousins, friends, and family.
To honor Kayla’s wishes, cremation will take place. There are no services scheduled at this time.
