Larry Gene Wolford, age 63, resident of Stopover, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 17th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Larry was born in Phelps, Kentucky, on January 5th, 1962, a loving son of the late Freddie & Glada (Blankenship) Wolford. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his brothers, Lloyd Wolford, Danny Boy Wolford, and Billy Ray Wolford.
Larry was a retired coal miner, and he loved serving the Lord. He was a soldier of the cross and a prayer warrior for many and a strong supporter of Israel. Larry enjoyed praying for people and he loved and cared for everyone. He attended Camp Creek Pentecostal Church, and he liked to visit and support other churches.
Larry leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Patty Wolford of Stopover, Kentucky; his children, Eric Dewayne Wolford of Stopover, Kentucky and Letichia Ann (Hunter Ryan) Plunkett of Mt. Washington, Kentucky; sisters, Ellen Marie Combs of Phelps, Kentucky, Norma Jean Justice of Big Card, Kentucky, Dianne (Raymond) Hurley, Macie Blankenship (fiancé Eli), and Dora Mae (Frank) Blankenship all of Stopover, Kentucky.
Larry was the proud papaw to Jessica Nichole Wolford, Eric Dewayne Wolford Jr., Phoebia Ann Wolford, Jackson Job Wolford, Paisleigh Grace Maggard, Lillian Rose Maggard, Lennon Eugene Maggard, and Levi Dan Plunkett; and one great grandson. Larry had a special grandson, Brandon Lee Avery Hurley.

Larry’s legacy and devotion lives on through the love he gave so freely, and the memories held dear by those who knew him. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. on June 20th, & 21st, 2025 with special services Saturday night with Pastor Hobert McCoy at 7:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home located at 37035 State Highway 194 East.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, June 22nd, 2025 in the chapel with Pastors, Harold Layne & Odis Blankenship officiating.
Burial will follow at the Wolford Family Cemetery in Stopover, Kentucky with friends and family serving as Pallbearers.
