Lenis Testerman Obituary

Lenis Lee Testerman, 79, resident of Ransom, Kentucky, passed away at his residence on December 31st, 2024.

A son of the late Dave Crockett and Jennie (Burks) Testerman, born on October 29th, 1945, at Isaban, West Virginia. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his cherished wife of 55 years, Wanda Testerman, who he took precious care of and treasured her throughout her life.  His loving son, Kevin Testerman; four sisters, Opal Burry, Betty Jo Johnson, Patsy Curtin, and Bernice Birchfield; and one brother, Larry Testerman.

Lenis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war era. After receiving an honorable discharge, Lenis and his beautiful wife Wanda returned home to Kentucky where he began working as an Electrician in the Coal Mines. Lenis was a member of the UMWA local 1440.

Those surviving Lenis include his beloved daughter, Kimberly (Mike) Adkins, of McCarr, Kentucky; one brother, Dave Testerman, of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia; grandchildren, Jared (Lauren) Testerman, of Crittenden, Kentucky, Matt Testerman of Lexington, Kentucky, and Stacey (Travis) White of Little Rock, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Sophia & Charlee Testerman, and Jackson White.

Lenis had a special friend, Mark Barath.  He also had a host of in-laws, nephews, and nieces who survive him.   

Lenis was a hard worker, providing for his family and always putting others’ needs above his own.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, being outdoors, fishing, camping, and cutting his grass.  Lenis was most content when he was in the company of his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  His legacy will continue through their love.

The family welcomes friends for visitation at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 4th, 2024 at the Jones & West Funeral Home located at 37035 State Highway 194 East in Phelps. 

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel with Elder Chad Crawford officiating.   Military honors will be conducted by DAV Chapter 141, Belfry, KY, following the service. 

Honoring the wishes of Lenis, cremation will follow the funeral, and he will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Wanda at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky, on January 6th, 2024.
