Mandy Kay Yates

Mandy Kay Yates, age 39 of Phelps, Ky. departed this life on Monday October 10, 2022, at her home. Born Feb. 22, 1983,she was the daughter of the late Billy and Patty Sawyers Compton. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by grandparents, Howard and Opal Sawyers, James, and Lizzie Jane Compton.

She is survived by her husband Shannon Yates of Phelps, KY; a son, Myles Keaton Yates; and a daughter, Evelyn Marie Yates of Phelps, Ky.  Mandy is also survived by sisters, Elizabeth Schoulties (Todd) of Independence Ky., and Kimberly Lawson (Hershel) of South Carolina; nieces and nephews, William Turner (Tiffany) of Greenville, TN; Corey Turner, Knoxville, TN; Michael Schoulties (Lizzie) of Covington, Ky;  Jacob Schoulties; and Hayley  Schoulties of Independence, Ky.  4 great nephews and one great niece.  Step grandmother, Ella Compton of Morristown, TN.  A host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Mandy was a graduate of Phelps High School.  She was employed as a security guard for Allied Protection Services . She was dedicated and hard working . She was proud of her work ethic and the accomplishments she made along the way. She was known as a go-getter. Her greatest joy was her children. She enjoyed music and was a dedicated mother involved in the activities of her children.

The family will begin receiving friends Saturday October 15, 2022, at 6:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home.
