Marty Blankenship Obituary

Marty Lee Blankenship, 58, of Stopover, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Phelps, KY.  He was born December 28, 1961 at Freeburn, KY, to the late Drewey & Genetta Ruth “Hardin” Blankenship.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister: Maggie Dotson.

Marty was a disabled coal miner, who was of Christian faith.  He was also the community recycler, and in his spare time he loved to fish, play cards, and most of all, spend time with his 8 grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Juanita “Lockhart” Blankenship; one son: Steven (Samantha Hurley) Blankenship of Phelps, KY; two daughters: Amanda (Frank) Stiltner of Stopover, KY, and Christina (Derek) Mayhorn of Grundy, VA; two brothers: Thomas Blankenship and Tobby Blankenship, both of Williamson, WV; Mother-In-Law: Travelene Bishop of Phelps, KY; eight grandchildren: Selena Stiltner, Dakota Mayhorn, Nicholas Blankenship, Savanna Stiltner, Jase Mayhorn, Dalton Blankenship, Makinlee Mayhorn, Ethan Blankenship,  and one niece: Genetta Blankenship of Williamson, WV.

In compliance with the families wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be scheduled later.
