Michael Eugene Hurley

With much sadness we announce the passing of Michael Gene Hurley, 55, resident of Stopover, Kentucky on October 31st, 2024, at Tug Valley ARH in South Williamson, Kentucky.

Michael was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on January 8th, 1969, a cherished son of the late Estil & Vernie “Hunt” Hurley.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his loving brothers, Vestil, Ricky Dean, and Vernon Hurley and his companion of 20 plus years, Zella Williams.

Michael enjoyed many outdoor activities including riding his 4-wheeler and hunting.  He also was a phenomenal handyman.  Michael found happiness listening to his music.  He relished spending time with his nieces & nephews and will be sadly missed.

Those remaining to honor Michael’s memory include his brothers, Larry Hurley of Argo, KY, and Scotty Hurley of Stopover, KY; five sisters, Lois Ann Sneed of Woodman, KY, Linda Sue Wolford of Phelps, KY, Teresa Wolford of Phelps, KY, Nedia Adkins (Wiley Smith) of Stopover, KY, and Robin Collie and her husband, William of Stopover, KY.

Michael had a very special friend, Marty Williams.  Also, a host of nieces & nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to welcome friends for visitation on Monday, November 4th, 2024 from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home located at 37035 Highway 194 East in Phelps with special services beginning at 7:00 with Pastor Larry Rife officiating.  Cremation will follow the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made directly to the funeral home to help offset services.
