Pearl Blankenship 73, of Majestic, KY passed away February 4th, 2024, in Frenchburg, KY. She was born in Freeburn, KY on July 12th, 1950, a loving daughter of the late Wayne & Sister “Sis” Mounts.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her son, Donald Blankenship Jr., brothers, Eddie, Jake, Flannery, and Hodge Mounts; sisters, Erma Blankenship, Marylene Chapman, Mattie Prater, Irene Gearles, Beulah Norman, Elva Mounts, and Berl Dotson.
Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was proud of her role as a homemaker. She loved to cook and looked forward to preparing holiday meals for her family. Pearl enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially during the summer. In her spare time, she liked to make flower arrangements and she collected porcelain dolls. She also enjoyed playing rummy and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Those surviving to cherish Pearl’s memory include her husband, Donald Blankenship Sr. of Majestic, KY; daughter, Angela Justice of Frenchburg, KY; sisters, Ruby Workman of Freeburn, KY; Lilly Bell of Beckley, WV, and Lynn Layne of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Seth Bowling, Corey (Tosha) Justice, Kelley Justice, Erney Justice, Alexis Blankenship, Macaila Blankenship; two great – grandchildren, Chloe Lyn Marie Justice, and Emilia Pearl Justice. Pearl will also be missed by her beloved dog, Max.
The family would like to welcome friends Thursday, February 8th, 2024, from Noon – 1:00 P.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home at Phelps, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. after visitation in the chapel with pastor Bobby Dale Wolford officiating.
Interment will conclude at Buddy Mounts Cemetery in Majestic, KY.
