Phyllis Guffey age 78, of Nicholasville, Kentucky passed away September 19th, 2023, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born on April 13th, 1945, in Freeburn, KY, a daughter of the late Burl and Thelma “Lambert” Layne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by a sister, Annette Cline, and a grandson, Joshua Tyler Combs.
Phyllis was of the Christian Faith. She was active around her home and enjoyed reading her bible daily. Reading was one of her favorite hobbies and she loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching WLJC hour of harvest every evening.
Those surviving Phyllis includes two sons, Brian Guffey, and Roy (Leslie) Combs Jr.; brothers, Ralph Layne; and Jeffery Layne; sisters, Molly Blackburn; Sylvia Coleman; Glendella “Bootsie” Lee; and Margaret Brizendine; and one great granddaughter, Aubrie Tyler Combs.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 25th, 2023, at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, Kentucky with Kelly Baldridge officiating. Entombment will conclude at Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Huddy, Kentucky.
