Richard Keith Daniels

Richard Keith Daniels, age 65, resident of Edgarton, W.V. transitioned to his heavenly home on February 13th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, at the Pikeville Medical Center. 

Richard was born in South Williamson, Kentucky on June 15th, 1960, the adored son of the late John Henry & Hazel (O’Quinn) Daniels.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Wayne Daniels.

Richard was a disabled coal miner and of the Pentecostal Faith.  Most of his days were spent walking the tracks, talking to God and enjoying nature and the beauty of the outdoors.  Richard was an avid reader of his bible and studying the word.  In his spare time, he had a passion for writing in his journal and singing and playing his guitar.  Richard’s humble spirit will continue to live on in the memories he fondly created with his family.

Those surviving to honor Richard’s legacy include his son, James Keith Daniels of Majestic, KY; granddaughter, Joni Lynn Daniels of Majestic, KY; brothers, John Wesley Daniels of Hurricane, WV, William Marshall Daniels and his wife Nancy of Freeburn, KY, Ronald Lee Daniels and his wife Tammy of Blackberry, KY; sisters, Stella Estepp of Williamson, WV, Kathy Ford of Matewan, WV, Mary Mounts of Blackberry, KY, Donna Smith of South Williamson, KY, Debra Sutherland and her husband Shannon of Chapmanville, WV, and Crystal Norman and her husband Ancie of Phelps, KY; and his ex-wife, Bonnie Dotson Daniels of Majestic, KY.

Richard leaves behind a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

The family welcomes friends for visitation on Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at the Faith Christian Church located at 36937 State Highway 194 East in Phelps.  Special services will begin at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Donald Davis officiating.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 16th, 2026 at the church with Pastor Odis Blankenship officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Daniels Family Cemetery at Cedar, WV. Friends and family will serve as Pallbearers.
