Richard McQuirt Obituary

Richard Lee McQuirt, 76, of Freeburn, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born November 10, 1943 in Columbus OH, to the late Gerald and Princess (Wise) McQuirt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother: Edith McQuirt; one brother: Gerald “Sonny” McQuirt; two sisters: Garildine McQuirt and Shirley McQuirt.

Richard was a man of Christian faith, who always adored playing with his grandchildren and enjoyed watching television in his spare time. He also absolutely loved his job, where he retired as a Security Guard for the Columbus Country Club.

Survivors include two sons: Heath McQuirt (Kimberley Rowland) of Freeburn, KY, Jerry McQuirt of Columbus, OH; one aunt: Vada McQuirt of Obetz, OH; one uncle: Rusty McQuirt of Obetz, OH; and three grandchildren: Braden McQuirt of Freeburn, KY, Heath Aaron “J-Bug” McQuirt Jr. of North Carolina, Kay Rowland of Freeburn, KY; and a host of friends & relatives to honor his memory.

Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be announced by the family later.
