Ronnie Skeens

With sadness we announce the passing of Ronnie Skeens, 78, of Phelps, Kentucky on December 4th, 2024, while inpatient at Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Ronnie was born on August 30th, 1946, in Freeburn, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Chester Edward & Etha (McCoy) Skeens.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his brothers and sisters, Bo Skeens, Dickie Skeens, Mildred Hatfield, and Faye Hatfield.

Ronnie was of the Pentecostal Faith.  He loved playing basketball throughout his years.  He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.  His grandchildren & great – grandchildren were the light of his life.

Those surviving to honor Ronnie’s life include his wife, Linda Skeens of Phelps, KY; one son, C.H. (Tamara) Smith of Greenup County, KY; one daughter, Ronda (Ivan) Bush of Bracken County, KY; grandchildren, Joseph (Sharai) Bush, of Bracken County, KY, Talon, Tallis, and Tallulah from Greenup County, KY; great – grandchildren, Tanner & Finley Bush of Bracken County, KY.

Special friends that Ronnie enjoyed the company of were Terry Fyffe and Tracy Dotson.

Honoring Ronnie’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services are scheduled.
