Sandy (Stump) Wolford

Sandy Wolford, 56, of Phelps, KY, passed away Saturday, June 10th, 2023, at Pikeville Medical Center. 

She was born October 16th, 1966, in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of the late Western and Truby “New” Stump.  In addition to her parents, Sandy was also preceded by her brother, Teddy Stump; her twin brother Randy Stump; sister, Debbie Hurley; nephew, Terry Stump Jr.; and niece, Bridget Stump.

Sandy was of the Pentecostal Faith.  She loved her baby girl and grandbabies with all of her heart. Being a mom and grandma was the most favorite part of her life.  She enjoyed traveling to her parent’s home in Ohio and going fishing there.  One of her favorite things to do was talk on the phone to her family and she liked to listen to music and cook a good meal.  She took excellent care of her mom, dad, and brother. 

Those left to cherish Sandy’s memory include one daughter, Latasha Wolford of Huntington, WV; brother, Terry “Lurch” (Denise) Stump of Phelps, KY; sisters, Tammy Johnson of Michigan; and Donna (Frelin) Dotson of Phelps, KY; three grandchildren, Dalton Jace Wolford, Lakyrah Wolford, and Bryson Blake Wolford; her fur baby, Benji; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss her dearly. 

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 13th, 2023, at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, KY with special services beginning at 7:00 P.M. with Pastors, Mike Casey, and Odis Blankenship officiating.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, in the chapel.  Interment will conclude at the Stump Family Cemetery in Smith Fork at Phelps, KY.
