Shirley Ann “Blankenship” Hurley 75, of Stopover, KY passed away on August 6th, 2023, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born at Stopover, KY on May 2nd, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle “Prater” Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded by her first husband, Clifford Eugene Hurley, second husband, Alex Stiltner, brothers, Emzie, and Harrison Jr. Blankenship, sisters, Ruthie Hurley, Josie Hamilton, Hester Adkins, Lou Adkins, Pearl Hurley, and Rosie Blankenship.
Those surviving Shirley includes her children, Clark Hurley (Betty Hatfield) of Stopover, KY; David (Michele) Hurley of Georgetown, KY; brothers, Lori (Maggie) Blankenship, and Will Blankenship both of Stopover, KY; grandchildren, Joseph, Samantha, Jacob, and Megan Hurley; great grandchildren, Bennett Hurley, and Brandon Tackett. A host of extended family and friends.
Shirley was of the Christian faith. When her first husband was alive, they enjoyed singing together in church. She was a Godly woman, always praying for others, and she never had a bad word to say about anyone. Her love for others never went unnoticed. Shirley cherished her children, grandbabies, and great grandbabies. She enjoyed making quilts when she was able and giving them away. She was known for her gardening, canning, and making homemade butter. She was a wonderful Mother and will be sadly missed.
Honoring the wishes of Shirley, cremation will be held, and no services are scheduled at this time.
