Sierra Shyanna Daugherty

Sierra Shyanna “Shy” Daugherty, age 25, resident of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away on July 25th, 2025, at her home.  A life gone too soon, Shy was a beacon of sunshine and had a beautiful smile that would light up the room. 

She was born on August 5th, 1999, in Williamson, W.Va., the daughter of Kenneth Daugherty and the late Katrina Sue Blankenship. 

In addition to Shy’s mom Katrina, she was also preceded by her maternal grandparents, Roger & Shirley Blankenship, paternal grandparents, Leo & Beatrice Daugherty, an uncle, Paul Daugherty, and her aunt, Vivian Blankenship.

Shyanna enjoyed the outdoors and walking with her little dog, Harley.  They were inseparable.  It was rare to see one without the other.  She enjoyed listening to her music and spending time with her friends. 

Those surviving Shyanna include her dad, Kenneth Daugherty (Treva Charles) of Phelps, KY; one brother, Tyler Daugherty (Sara Beth White) of Stopover, KY; her sister, Maggie Dowdy; one uncle, Marvin Blankenship of Phelps, KY; two aunts, Melinda Daugherty and Jimetta Daugherty both of Stopover, KY; and one great-aunt, Karen Bateman of Phelps, KY. 

Shy is also loved by her nephews, cousins, extended family & friends. 

Shyanna’s presence will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on through the love she shared and the beauty she created.

Details regarding a memorial service will be shared with friends and family at a later date.
