Steven Anthony “Porkchop” Dotson, age 56, resident of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away at the Pikeville Medical Center on August 3rd, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Steven was born on December 16th, 1968, in Pikeville, Kentucky, a loving son of the late Ralph & Bonnie (Baker) Dotson.
In addition to Steven’s parents, he was also preceded by his siblings, Barry Dotson, and Kimberly “Coach Kim” Dotson.
“Porkchop” as he was affectionately known, dedicated many years of his life working as a rock truck driver for Clintwood. Outside of work, Steven was a man of many interests. He was a huge collector of comic books, action figures and movies. Steven also had a massive gun collection and enjoyed shooting them and in his spare time he enjoyed his video games. Steven always welcomed a good meal, and he loved to sample and experience food that he had never tried before. Steven was a proud dad and papaw. He cherished the love of his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kayci (Gabriel) Berry of Ransom, KY; his ex-wife and great friend, Jane Dotson of Phelps, KY; one granddaughter, Aelin Berry of Ransom, KY; sister in law, Cindy Dotson of Majestic, KY; nephew, Ray (Kayla) Daniels; niece, Lisa (Paul) Barrett of Barbourville, KY; great nieces & nephews, Hayley Barrett, Brystol Daniels, Bailey Daniels, Ryan Wolford, Richie Wolford, Eric Daniels, Caden Daniels, and Cameron Daniels.
Steven had a host of extended family & friends, especially his work buddies that will miss his infectious personality.
Steven was a source of laughter, generosity and a sense of adventure to all that he met. His legacy of love, dedication and warm memories shared will never be forgotten; he truly was one of a kind.
The family welcomes friends for visitation from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Friday, August 8th, 2025 at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, Kentucky located at 37035 State Highway 194 east.
Funeral services will begin at 6:00 P.M. following visitation in the chapel with Pastor Dennie Land officiating.
Burial will follow at the Barker Cemetery in Phelps, Kentucky with friends and family serving as Pallbearers.
