Ervin Carl Scott, age 70, of Jeffersonville, KY, formerly of Phelps, KY, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his residence. Born October 31, 1946 in Phelps, KY, he was the son of the late Burl and Roberta Whitt Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Scott and George A. Scott. Ervin was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife: Dailene Church Scott; one son: Tommy (Jennifer) Scott of Jeffersonville, KY; one daughter: Debbie Lynn (Leon) Varney of Kimper, KY. He has two grandchildren: Greggory Peyton Varney of Kimper, KY, Jada Burlynn Scott of Jeffersonville, KY; two step-grandchildren: Evan Varney of Harold, KY, and Abigail Varney of Harold, KY; four sisters: Tammy (Donnie) Layne of Winchester, KY, Sylvia Dotson of Pikeville, KY, Charlene (Daryl) Baker of Wellington, KY, Pam (Rick) Kelley of Springfield, OH; two sisters-in-law: Stella Scott of Freeburn, KY, Helen Scott of Florida; and a host of family & friends to cherish his memory.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday June 5, 2017 at the Jones & West Funeral Home, Phelps, KY with Reverends: Opie Ray Harris & Ronnie Wolford officiating.
Burial will follow in the Scott Family Cemetery at Bones Branch, Phelps, KY.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M.
