Jeffery Dean Belcher

Jeffery Dean Belcher, 58, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at his residence.  He was born December 11, 1958 in Grundy, VA, a son of Inis Belcher Prater of Somerset, KY and the late Elmer Belcher.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Gwyn Belcher; step-father: Burbige Prater; one brother: Elmer Belcher Jr.; and a special aunt: Mag Coleman.

Jeff was a former coal truck driver and was the owner & operator of Jeff’s Taxidermy in Bean Station, TN.  He was very skillful in his craft and had the reputation of being the best taxidermist in the area.  Jeff loved motorcycles and enjoyed spending time riding with his friends.  He was also a fisherman, particularly enjoying striper fishing.  Jeff was of the Church of God faith.  He was a wonderful husband & father and he loved his children & grandchildren.

In addition to his mother Inis, Jeff is survived by his wife: Kinna Daugherty Belcher of Tampa, FL; one daughter: Mandy Belcher of Morristown, TN; one brother: Ernest (Katrina) Belcher of Somerset, KY; two grandchildren: Mallory Gwyn Belcher & Lennon Cain Clouney; aunt: Ethel Moore of Michigan; uncle: Robert Daugherty of Phelps, KY; special cousins: John, Luther Jr., Doris, Bonnie, & Wilma; special friend: Brock Hardin; and a host of loving friends & family to cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 Monday, August 7th at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverends Marvin Casey & Larry Blackburn officiating.  Burial will follow in the Daugherty Family Cemetery, Solomon Br., Jamboree, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M.
