Melodie “Wolford” Blankenship , 38, of McCarr, KY, passed away Saturday April 9, 2016 at her residence. She was born November 12, 1977 at Pikeville, KY, a daughter of Deborah Ann (Dotson) Tiller of Matewan, WV and the late Melvin Wolford.
Melodie was a graduate of Magnolia High School, class of 1996. She was a homemaker & loving mother who will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband: Earl Gene Blankenship; one daughter: Kendra Paige Blankenship; two stepsons; Earl Gene Blankenship Jr. & William Ervin Blankenship all of McCarr, KY; one brother: Melvin (LeeAnn) Wolford of Matewan, WV; one sister: Angela Wolford of Matewan; maternal grandfather: Bradley Dotson of Phelps, KY; one grandchild she helped raise: Faith Gail Blankenship of McCarr, KY; and a host of family & friends to mourn her passing.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday April, 15, 2016 at the Buskirk Cemetery-Radio Hill, McCarr, KY with Rev. Benny Freeman officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 10:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Jones & West Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
