Phyllis J. (Coleman) Daugherty

Phyllis Coleman Daugherty, 70, a resident of the Good Sheppard Community Nursing Center Phelps, KY, formerly of Freeburn KY, passed away on August 8, 2017 at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born September 6, 1946 at Freeburn, a daughter of the late James & Roxie Fuller Coleman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: George Washington Coleman & James Elmer Coleman; and one sister: Corina Coleman.

Phyllis was a member of the Cornerstone Apostolic Church at Jamboree, KY.  She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed travelling to Michigan and Tennessee. Some of her hobbies included crocheting and playing bingo. Phyllis was loved by all of the  neighborhood kids, they all thought of her as the “cool” mom.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband: Clyde Eugene Daugherty of Freeburn, KY; one son: Clyde Samuel (Michelle) Daugherty of New Market, TN; one brother: John Henry Coleman of Harold, KY; two granddaughters: Savannah Daugherty of Malta, NY & Samantha Daugherty of New Market, TN; one grandson:  Garrett Daugherty of New Market, TN; and a host of family & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Cornerstone Apostolic Church, Jamboree, KY with Reverend Richard McKinney officiating.  Burial will follow in the Daugherty Cemetery, Freeburn, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the church with special services Friday at 7:00 P.M.
