Emzie Coleman

Emzie Coleman, 59, of Freeburn, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY.  He was born August 20, 1957 in West Virginia, a son of the late Amos & Carrie Bell Cline Coleman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Sherman Coleman, Acie Cline; three sisters: Marie Wolford, Geraldine Blankenship, & Judy Ferrell.

Emzie was member of the United Mine Workers of America, having worked for Chisholm Coal Company. 

Emzie is survived by one son: Micah (Jessica) Coleman of Herrin, IL; one daughter: Cassondra “Cassie” Jaime (Mark) Murphy of Freeburn, KY; three brothers: John Cecil Coleman of Logan, WV, Ernie “Roy” Coleman of Rockport, OH, Larry Lee Coleman of Ohio; three sisters: Patricia Coleman of Frankfort, KY, Onita Hall of Frankfort, KY, Mable Hayton of Chillicothe, OH; five grandchildren: Chelsea Coleman, Tamara Murphy, Blake Murphy, Xzander Coleman, Madison Coleman;  and a host of nieces, nephews, friends & family to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 25th at The Lord’s House, Phelps, KY with Reverends: Mitch Bowling, Cecil Coleman, & Larry Rife officiating.

Burial will follow in the Freeburn Community Cemetery, Freeburn, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Monday at the church with special services at 7:00 P.M.
