Geraldine Joyce (Helton) Campbell

Geraldine Campbell, 82, of Stopover, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Stanton Nursing Center in Stanton, KY.

She was born August 7, 1932 in Pike County, KY, a daughter of the late Walter and Josie Dotson Helton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Will A. Campbell; one sister: Colene Justice and four brothers: Kenneth, Don, Billy, and Walter Jr. Helton.

Geraldine was a loving wife and mother and took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a child of God, baptized in 1954 and a member of the Shepherd Memorial Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. There she became the church historian and was their oldest member at the time of her passing.

Survivors include three sons: Ezekiel (Betty) Campbell of Radcliff, KY, Harold (Kay) Campbell, and Jeffery (Mary) Campbell of Stopover, KY; one daughter: Colleen (Sanford) Dotson of Owingsville, KY; one brother: Roger Helton of Honaker, Va.; eight grandchildren: Melissa (John) Bigler of Radcliff, KY, Jeremy Campbell of Radcliff, KY, Jonathan (Kandice) Campbell of Stopover, KY, Justin (Kellie) Campbell of Louisville, KY, Taletha (Seth) Clay of Phelps, KY, Joshua (Jeanna) Dotson of Owingsville, KY, Adam Dotson of Lexington, KY, and Jennifer (Daniel) Geddes of Winchester, KY; twelve great-grandchildren: Leeland, Macy Jordyn, Kionna, Kateyln Mary Beth, Jett, Kanda, Olivia, Jeremy Jr., Beth, Jacob, Timothy, Faith and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, March 8th at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Dodenhoff, James Smith and Boyd Coleman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Helton Family Cemetery, Drill, Va.

Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Friday & Saturday at the funeral home chapel with special singing and sharing of memories at 7:00 P.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY.
